Compliance is not a dirty word

We read daily about the confusion surrounding requirements for importing certain goods into South Africa. We have excellent relationships with a few South African freight companies, allowing us to obtain a better insight into the issues faced by importers.

We have been dealing with the NRCS for a few years now, and have been successful in obtaining LOAs for products mostly in the Electrotechnical division.

We have built a good relationship with various testing laboratories in China, allowing us to procure IEC reports for LOA applications relatively speedily, and at a reasonable cost. We work closely with our clients to ensure their products are tested to the correct standards for NRCS submission.

We are able to work with clients’ test laboratories in China as well as our own, as we have a Chinese liaison arrangement in Shandong should it be required.

Working with multiple LOA applications, we have built a reasonably good relationship with the NRCS (as good as one can legitimately have with a government department), allowing us to be far more effective and efficient than a single client could be.

We ensure that specifications for South African standards – especially plugs – are adhered to, and that the products electrical ratings are correctly displayed on the “nameplate”.

Once we have vetted test reports for correctness, we submit the correct paperwork to obtain an LOA. We have had LOAs granted in as short a time as 40 days, but with an average time of 60 – 90 days.
